Strategic Action Planning Framework

Since we launched our Strategic Action Planning Framework in 2017, the world around us has changed dramatically – and, as advocates and providers of lifelong learning, we acknowledge our obligation to evolve with it.

That's why we've continued to revise our "living" document to reflect not only who we are now and where we are going but also to ensure it serves today's students and their wants and needs.

An equity-focused, inclusive and transformational environment that inspires students, faculty and staff to strive for excellence. A culture of belonging where students, faculty and staff feel seen, heard and valued. A focus on high-quality teaching, research and service to prepare students for personal and professional success while equipping them to be leaders and advocates for social change.

Our values of student success, authentic learning, inquiry, belonging, partnerships and meaningful change are the guiding principles that shape our decision-making and actions as we advance our strategic priorities.

Strategic Priorities

  • Student Experience

    Offer all students engaging and authentic academic experiences. Support persistence in their programs through graduation and preparation for personal and professional success.

  • Innovative Action

    Develop or customize curricula, programs or practices to improve access, address workforce and community needs, and advance our fields of study.

  • Social Justice

    Address systems, policies and practices that marginalize people based on social and cultural identities. Empower students, faculty and staff to advocate for equity and social change.

  • Research Advancement

    Support our faculty and students in research engagement to deepen understanding, build theory, address problems of practice and/or foster partnerships.

  • Intentional Growth

    Attract and retain diverse faculty and staff. Enhance our student recruitment efforts to increase enrollment in programs that address market demand.
